It’s never easy to adjust or make improvements in our lifestyle. We are so used to how we live that it becomes a personal struggle to change it.
The best indicator that we need to change our habits is when our bodies start developing symptoms or even diseases we didn’t have before.
Kirsty McDaide, one of the founders of JIVITA and guest of the Rejuvenated Woman podcast stated the indicators that our bodies experience when it’s filled with toxicity and this is indicated in the previous blog.
Some of these symptoms are problems in the menstrual cycle, disrupted sleep, inflammations, and leaky gut. It also affects our emotions and behaviour such as being too irritable, anxious, increased panic attacks, and more.
When Kirsty was asked about her top recommendations people can do to start detoxification she gave straightforward answers. She mentioned going where it’s fun, increasing intake of better quality and quantity of water, and raising the vibration of food.
- Go where it’s fun
Some people may equate detoxification with a stressful task. The thought of having to change habits and lifestyles is challenging since our routines are already established. Cathy is fully aware of this that’s why she encourages clients to start with one thing at a time and this shouldn’t cause any more stress.
We’re all intuitive beings and this makes us knowledgeable about what works for our bodies. Detoxification allows us to become a better version of ourselves, but it doesn’t have to be difficult to engage in.
Kirsty recommends figuring out what intrigues you and the detoxification journey should encourage looking within the self. No one knows you better than yourself.
- Increase intake of better quality and quantity of water
Kirsty states that water is a great start to detoxification. When we take the recommended amount of good quality water, we begin to feel better. This manifests through our skin and improves the immune system
We should be mindful of the kind of water we’re drinking. Depending on your location, your water may undergo different distillation processes to ensure it’s safe for drinking.
Kirsty filters her water to get rid of all the chemicals, but she remineralizes it to bring the vitality back. Doing so makes her taste buds more sensitive to what she’s putting into her body.
In the process of changing her water, she also cleanses her body by becoming more aware of the chemicals or ingredients in her food and beverages.
- Raise the vibration of your food
Some people may find it challenging to change their eating habits. Food is personal, normally we associate food with good emotions. However, we must keep in mind that it’s also possible to enjoy healthy food.
One of the hindrances to eating healthy food is the expense, but this will depend on where you shop. Kirsty shops in farmer’s markets, and it helped reduce her shopping cost.
She also formed meaningful connections with the farmers who planted and harvested the produce. The farmers would happily tell her the overall process of planting up until it gets displayed.
For Kirsty, it’s all about being committed to what will benefit her body in the long run. She affirms this by saying, “my food bill has a fair amount, but my doctor’s bill is zero.”
Detoxification is never easy, but as Kirsty showcased, it’s possible. Our bodies are capable of giving us signs that it needs help, and it’s up to us to heed this call. The simple way of changing our water and food intake generates numerous benefits.
Just like what Kirsty suggested, detoxification doesn’t have to be a rigorous process. It begins with knowing where to go. When you listen to what your body needs, your detoxification journey is guaranteed to have a good start.
